South African Tasting:

Landskroon Pinotage. More fruit forward than the last vintage. Telltale cola-cherry palate and some earthiness. Look for this at Epicure by the glass or bottle or get it at Somm for $15 a bottle!

Landskroon Pinotage Rose. Yes rose. Just a little earthiness on the palate but mostly tart red cherry fruit. Nice accidity and a very easy drinker. Look for it soon at Epicure.

Zevenwacht Cab Franc Rose. Tart red fruit on the nose, following onto the palate. Cab Franc needs hot weather to ripen fully, thus this South African is made with a less ripeness than other terroirs. Some notes of green pepper on the nose and on the palate though not pronounced. Tart strawberry fruit on the back of the palate and a medium finish. Dry. Buy it at Somm for $14
